Task
In order to comply with the protection regulations for sites of historic interest, as well as with the operation requirements of the new Pöstlingberg line (with a rail gauge of 900mm), the historic cars had to be rebuilt. The historic vehicles, too, had to be state-of-the-art in order to be fit for operation on this topographically exceptional route.
Solution
- Analysis of infrastructure and operation requirements, as well as legal regulations, for the use of a tram under these topographically exceptional circumstances
- Outlining possible technical applications based on the complex system requirements
- Preparing the tender specifications
- Assistance with project implementation, vehicle approval and contract execution
Outcome
The rebuilt historic vehicles were placed in service as planned; they were also capable of multiple-unit operation.
