Local Public Transport

In the fight for economic and ecological prioritisation, local public transport has long prevailed over motorised individual transport. The mobility of inhabitants in “car cities” (following the American example) is roughly twice as expensive as in cities with well-developed local public transport (Source: Statistics of the UITP, International Union of Public Transport). A shift towards local public transport – as it is increasingly being implemented by local authorities – seems all the more necessary, not only from an economic, but also from an ecological perspective.

Once the transport-political decision is made in favour of tramway-, light rail- or subway-systems, the development of a highly complex transport project begins, which requires the know-how of various different disciplines.
